We built Cafe de Juancho to carry that spirit forward — to bring you coffee that means something, sourced with intention and roasted to honor the bean.

A Heritage Rooted in Cuban Coffee Culture

Cuba has one of the oldest and most storied coffee traditions in the Western Hemisphere. Brought to the island in the 18th century, coffee quickly became woven into the fabric of daily life. The cafecito — a small, intensely brewed espresso sweetened with raw sugar — is not just a drink. It is a social ritual. You share it with a neighbor before the day begins. You offer it to a guest before a single word of business is spoken. You linger over it with family long after the meal is done.

Single-Origin Sourcing: Knowing Where Your Coffee Comes From

We are committed to single-origin coffee because we believe transparency and traceability are the foundation of quality. When you know exactly where a bean was grown — the altitude, the soil, the hands that harvested it — you can taste the difference.

Our beans are carefully selected from farms and cooperatives known for their dedication to craft. We look for:

  • Altitude-grown beans — higher elevations slow the cherry's development, concentrating sugars and producing more complex, nuanced flavors.
  • Small-batch harvests — working with smaller farms means closer relationships, better quality control, and fairer compensation for the growers.
  • Sustainable practices — we prioritize farms that care for their land, their workers, and the communities around them.

We roast in small batches so that what arrives at your door is as fresh as possible. No sitting in a warehouse. No guessing how long it has been on a shelf. Just carefully roasted coffee, packed and shipped so you get it at peak flavor.
